The production of a photographic report is the basis of the third KREA and Periscopio photographic workshop

25 November 2008

KREA, a project sponsored by Caja Vital Kutxa,  closes this year's ‘Itinerarios’ programme, with a proposal of a practical nature which will analyse all the phases of  an exterior project.

‘Taking, editing and digital processing’ is the evocative title of this third encounter of professional photographers, directed by David López Espada and Luis de las Alas.

The basic requirement for those attending the workshop is a digital camera.  The two lecturers have opened an email account and each student has sent in five photos, which will be shown in the workshop and which will be analysed and reviewed. In this way, both David López Espada and Luis de las Alas will already be familiar with the work of their students, which will make the workshop more productive and specialised.

The workshop will show all the phases of an exterior project: illumination, viewing, editing, raw processing, final copy and printing, for which the use of various photographic materials will be facilitated.

David López Espada has been working with Isabel Muñoz for sixteen years. He is responsible for scanning, developing, copying, digital management and processing in black and white and in colour. He has studied photography in New York with Shauna Churo and with Dan Durkholder, and has also attended courses in Madrid with Jose María Mellado. He has taught digital classes in the Escuela Efti de Fotografía in Madrid and has collaborated with the Vu Agency (Paris), Grupo Zeta and La Liberation, among others.

Luis de las Alas is a photojournalist specialised in editorial photography. After working in El País, he was the co-founder and graphic editor of Matador magazine. He currently works in different medias and he is a photographer for El Mundo and its magazine El Magazine.
