Introduction

¿Cuál es tu Festival Favorito?
Sé Kreativo y consigue tus abonos.
From 12 September 2008 to 12 September 2008

“The moon will set over Vitoria-Gasteiz. A night of music, theatre… and lots of magic. Where will you be?” reads the poster for ‘KREA Moon’, an original initiative that will turn the night of the 12th September in Vitoria-Gasteiz into a platform to promote the work of young creators. Here’s a sneak preview of the programme.

Young contemporary creation will take over the entire city, as thirty venues and various emblematic spaces stage performances of the latest trends in music, the most irreverent café theatre, original choreographies and urban recitals. The cultural activity will run non-stop from 4:30 p.m. until 2:00 a.m. and will also reveal new currents in disciplines such as comics, audiovisual projections and illusionism.

This entire programme is organised by KREA Contemporary Expression, a project backed by Caja Vital Kutxa, which aims to run this initiative on an annual basis, seeking to promote creation and bring the public closer to the creative work of new generations of professionals from different artistic disciplines. There will be performances by a whole host of artists from various professional backgrounds: DJs, artists, poets, musicians, actors, videocreators, etc.

Here’s a little a sneak preview of some of the performances you can expect to find: there will be over thirty participants, including local music groups such as ‘Rockaína’, a group that mixes rock, punk-rock, pop-rock, and rap-rock with elements of urban poetry, and ‘El antídoto’, an underground hip-hop band, offering generous helpings of humour and raw edginess.

In terms of the stage arts, the event will feature shows such as ‘El feeling es así’ by Teatro Teatro, an acid play based around little things, simple details in life and lots of social criticism; DJs such as DJ Señorlobo, responsible for the exquisite record label Lovemonk, will be unleashing a complete festive rainbow that sinks its roots into funk, latin and house music, including afrobeat and broken-beatz.

KREA Expresión Contemporánea will soon confirm more performances, which all have a common thread running through them: their young, contemporary and multidisciplinary nature.

Taking part in the magical night

As well as music, theatre, dance and poetry performances, KREA will be organising two competitions that allow the public to take part in this lunar night. A competition encourages members of the audience at the concerts, plays and various activities to provide a creative description of their experience at ‘KREA Moon’.
