KREA Contemporary Expression closes its fifth edition of the Poetry Competition with an awards ceremony which pretends to sow the seeds of literary creativity amongst the youngest.
The meeting takes place on Friday 5th of March at 19.00 hours at the Aula Fundación Caja Vital Kutxa and shall include the presence of the young writer Leire Bilbao who, in addition to reciting her poetry, shall share with the audience her love for literature and how her vocation grew until it became her profession.
Leire Bilbao (Ondarroa, 1978) is the author of the poetry book ‘Ezkatak’ and has published five children's books, amongst which her very recent ‘Olagarro bat bainuontzian’ and ‘Garazi Gerezi’ or ‘Komunean galtzen naiz’ stand out.
During the awards ceremony, the prize for the Best Delivery shall be awarded in both categories and languages, which shall be decided in situ by the Jury after hearing the different deliveries from the young poets. Furthermore, the audience may pick up the third volume of the KREA Poesía collection which includes the poems presented. All poetry shall be published in KREA's web www.kreared.com.
Prizes
The author of 'Adivina, adivinanza', Maider Lasa, is the competition winner in the child category in Spanish language, and Haizea Guerrero the author of ‘Ez salto egin...!’ in Basque. Blanca García is the winner in the youth category for ‘Sonrisas’ in Spanish and Aitor de la Villa in the youth category for his poem ‘Urtaroen Dantza’ in Basque.
In the child category, which is directed to schoolboys/girls between nine and thirteen years of age, the second prize in Spanish has been awarded to Gabriela Gómez for ‘El amor’ and the third prize to Ander Díez for ‘Quiero ser bombero’. In Basque, the second prize has been awarded to Leire Marimón for ‘Sudur-Gorri’ and the third prize to Ane Olano for ‘Euriaren negarra’.
While in the youth category, which includes students between fourteen and seventeen years of age, Azahara Santano has been awarded the second prize for ‘Tú’ and Ander Elizondo the third prize for ‘Declaración de principios y finales’ in Spanish. In Basque, María Victoria Errekatxo has been awarded the second prize for ‘Horrela garelako’ and Irati Legorburu the third prize for her poem ‘Esnatu’.
Lastly, the jury has awarded Maider Montero Lozano a special mention in the child category for ‘Carta para el futuro’ in Spanish.
