Aim
To promote research projects, training, dissemination and exhibition within contemporary creation.
Areas of action
The visual arts, film, video, literary arts, music, dance and theatre. KREA Expresión Contemporánea also promotes a concept of culture that is open to other areas of social interest: science, solidarity, sustainable development…
Sections
1. KREA projects
- Three grants are awarded for the production of original and pioneering projects related with contemporary art, musical composition, choreographic creation and/or theatrical creation.
€12,000 maximum per project.
- Two grants are awarded to original and pioneering research projects related with contemporary creation and culture, and specifically in KREA’s areas of action.
€9,000 maximum per project.
- Recipients: Anyone who was born or currently lives in the Autonomous Region of the Basque Country and its provinces, and Caja Vital Kutxa’s operational areas (Burgos, Cantabria, Guadalajara, La Rioja, León, Madrid, Navarra, Salamanca, Toledo, Valladolid and Zaragoza). Residence must be duly accredited and must date back to before the 1st October 2006.
2. Young KREA
- Three grants are awarded to young creators interested in producing a creation project related with the areas of interest of KREA Expresión Contemporánea.
€6,000 maximum per project.
- Three grants are awarded to young creators interested in expanding their education and training in relation with their creative field.
€6,000 maximum per project.
- Recipients: Anyone born after the 1st May 1978, who was either born or is currently living in the Autonomous Region of the Basque Country. Residence must be duly accredited and must date back to before the 1st October 2006.
Documentation required
- Correctly filled application form, with explicit acceptance of the bases of this announcement.
- Photocopy of National Identity Card (DNI), passport or other means of identification, and in the case of residents in Alava, a certificate of residence.
- Detailed curriculum vitae.
- Explanation of the project, specifying objectives, action plan (development phases) with the help of graphic, visual or sound material, if necessary.
- Project budget – income and expenses, specifying the amount being applied for towards it.
Selection
- Quality and interest of the project.
- Previous achievements of the person or collective applying.
- Viability and suitability of the project, and its possible publication. The application of new technologies in working methods will also be evaluated.
